About Ubuntu Addiction Recovery

Recovery begins with hope. Restoration grows through connection.

Our Story

Ubuntu Addiction Recovery was born from a simple but powerful truth: no one should have to face addiction alone. The journey toward healing is often isolating, filled with setbacks, and misunderstood by those who haven't walked the path.

Founded by Melanie Koen, a transformational coach and published author, our mission is to provide practical, dignity-focused resources that meet people exactly where they are. From the critical first 24 hours after a relapse to the lifelong work of rebuilding a purposeful life, we are here to offer tools, not just theory.

We believe that recovery is not about perfection; it is about persistence, community, and the courage to take the next step.

The Ubuntu Philosophy

"I am because we are." This ancient African philosophy is the heartbeat of our work. It reminds us that our healing is deeply connected to the healing of our community. We cannot restore ourselves in isolation; we need the village, and the village needs us.

Our Core Values

Compassion

Meeting every individual with empathy, removing shame, and honoring the dignity of the human experience.

Community

Fostering connection and shared support, because healing happens best when we lean on one another.

Restoration

Focusing on practical, lifelong growth. Moving beyond just stopping a behavior to building a rich, purposeful life.
